Located in the small town of Eastport off SR 190, Shackford Head State Park is one of America's most eastern points. The park is open year-round with very limited facilities. The most popular recreation is hiking the small trail along the water's edge. Nature photography, relaxing in the ocean breezes and the opportunity to view wildlife reward those willing to travel the distance.

Shackford Head State Park is one of America's eastern most points. The park is located in the Down East / Acadia Region on a 90-acre peninsula immediately west of the coastal town of Eastport. The park rests within Broad Cove, part of Cobscook Bay. The small park is open year-round for those wishing to view spectacular beach scenery, protected coves and a bold headland. Limited amenities are offered.

Located along one of America's eastern most points, Shackford Head State Park is a beautiful remote site offering year-round access for hiking, picnicking, nature photography and wildlife viewing.

Visitors to the Down East / Acadia Region may expect to find daytime winter temperatures averaging above 18 degrees Fahrenheit (above -8 Celsius). Summer brings southwesterly winds and temperatures averaging above 68 degrees Fahrenheit (above 20 Celsius).
